Summer Layering- Tees Under Bralets & Dresses
Early summer weather is fickle. Hot as hell, cold fronts, humidity, wild wind and the inevitable torrential rain- all occurring in the span of a couple of hours! #stoptheinsanity.
For most of us, layering clothing is essential to prevent us from a) freezing our asses off  b) preventing sunburns on those hard-to-reach spots and c) optimizing the lovely summer pieces we’ve got hanging in our closets.
Because waiting until August is NOT an option, here are 3 chic styling tips to layer like a pro.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Review

Revlon Colourstay Gel Envy

Confession time: I’m cheap. There, I’ve said it. Aaahh, it feels so good to get that out there in the open! Before you start flooding my inbox with applications for Extreme Couponing, allow me clarify: Not cheap to the point of sacrificing good quality for crappy product (snapping up loads of subpar product, simply because you get more for your buck, is just plain dumb IMHO), but if there is a great brand to add to my beauty arsenal that doesn’t break the bank, I will happily choose it over its luxury counterpart.

That’s why I love Revlon. High quality product. Trendy colours. A plethora of finishes to suit every taste. And last- but certainly not least- affordable price points that allow a little experimentation with your favourite shades. When the lovely ladies at Revlon hooked me up with a few bottles of their new Colorstay Gel Envy formula, I couldn’t wait to give it a try.  So how did it perform? I’m happy to report, way beyond expectations!

Two coats of Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Winning Streak is all you need for completely opaque coverage (a MUST for me with pastel shades). If you’re in a rush, or prefer a more translucent finish, one coat of this nail polish will yield a pretty, pearly effect. Drying time? Less than 5 minutes. I swiped on a coat of the new Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat, and my quick, at-home mani lasted a good six days without a single chip. For $7.95 a bottle, I will definitely be stocking up on more shades when this line hits the shelf next month.

Warby Parker Summer 2014 Collection

Warby Parker

If you’ve ever shopped for prescription sunglasses, you know how expensive they can be. Deals can be found, but they usually come with the hallmarks of mucho tacky eyewear: rectangle frames, heavy embellishment and intricate laser cut arms. A.k.a: fug as hell. Classic, chic, affordable options are few and far between, and when they take centre stage on your face, style is a definite requirement.

Enter Warby Parker. The eyewear company’s mission is simple: classic, attractive eyewear at a price point that doesn’t make a girl shed major tears for her bank account at checkout. Impressed? There’s more! For every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need. An entry point of $120 per pair and a charity effort? I like where this is going, and I’m not the only one! Supermodel Karlie Kloss has recently signed on for a capsule collection designing three metal framed, 70s-inspired beauties, just in time for summer.

Above are my favourites from the Warby Parker Summer 2014 collection. Have you heard of Warby Parker? What are your favourite styles?

Fab Finds: Frilly Factor

FRILL

Silk scares me. Camisoles chill me to the bone. A top that only bodes well for 30+ weather, yet magnifies perspiration spots at the slightest glimmer of sweat? That is cruel, unwearable irony, and its catapulted into one of the hottest trend tops for Summer 2014: the flimsy camisole.

While I love the casual feeling of a flimsy silk cami, stepping out in a curve-hugging, back-n’ boob-sweat accentuating little number isn’t my idea of casual-sexy elegance. Finding an alternative option became a mission, and I think I’ve found it in the frilly, tiered, spaghetti strap crop top.

Flowy. Flouncy. Feminine. Do you love a little frill factor?
