It’s no secret that hosiery is having a fashion moment as of late. Leggings, jeggings, dotted, leopard spotted, lace, sheer, opaque, hearts, footless, stirrup- we’re spoilt for choice. French design duo Marion and Oliver of the design firm Les Queues de Sardines (m + o studio) is looking to get in on the action with their offering of quirky painted stockings. What sets them apart is each pair is screen-printed by hand, ensuring no two pair exactly alike, a clincher for the gal who dares to be different. Depending on style, the stockings are offered in either opaque or sheer. I’m partial to the sheer option, which allow me to indulge my prison-tat fantasies, without committing a career-limiting move.
