Trendspotting: Dusty Rose- No longer a dirty word

Until recently, the term “dusty rose” induced flashbacks of my Mum’s hideously on-trend living room, circa 1992: wall-to-wall dusty rose paint, lampshades and full carpeting of dusty rose in all it’s glory. Dusty and downright dirty.

Luckily, my re-acquaintance with dusty rose was pleasant and in perfect proportion, as the colour was showcased all over the runway for Spring 2010. Soft, feminine and flattering on all skin types, this Spring’s  pink, lilac, peach and gray will all be of the dusty variety. I welcome this romantic palette with open arms and bid a fond farewell to the 80’s influenced harsh tones of last season.
